Dubai Fountains – With the capacity to spray 22,000 gallons (83,000 liters) of water in air at any point of time, the Dubai Fountain is the largest dancing fountain in the world. 902 feet in length, it shoots water up to the height of 500 feet and is illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 colored projectors. The enchanting Dubai Fountain performances accompanied by light and music are a must-not-miss while you are in Dubai. In the past, the fountain has performed to the tunes of Dhoom Thana, a Hindi song by Abhijeet; Bassbor Al Fourgakom, by Emirati artist Hussain Al Jasmi; The Prayer, by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli; and Ishy Bilady, The UAE National Anthem; to name a few.
Set on the 24-acre Burj Lake, The Dubai Fountain features water that jets as high as 450 ft (140 metres), which is equivalent to a 45-storey building. Designed by California-based WET, the creators of the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, The Dubai Fountain is 900 ft (275 metres) long, has five circles of varying sizes and two central arcs.
Over 6,600 WET Superlights – the most advanced incandescent fountain lights available today – and 25 colour projectors create a visual spectrum of over 1,000 abstract attractions. The beam of light shining upward from the fountain can be seen from over 20 miles away, and is visible from space, making it the brightest spot in the Middle East, and quite possibly in the entire world.
