In 2009, AIR ALGERIE made a turnover of 58.1 billion Algerian Dinars (DA) with an increase of seven per cent (7%) compared to 2008, and a four
(04) billion Algerian Dinars (DA) net profit. The company carries annually about 3.54 million passengers (on the scheduled flights: Hadj and Omra).
AIR ALGERIE has today a fleet of fourty (40) aircraft. Thirty – nine (39) of them are operated for passengers carriage and one (01) for cargo. Between seventeen (17) years old in 2003 and seven (07) years old at the end of 2010, AIR ALGERIE’s passengers fleet is one of the youngest.
The development process is still in progress. After achieving the new Maintenance Base and modernizing its fleet, AIR ALGERIE started to modernize its management means and information systems, and to upgrade its activities in order to meet the market challenges.
AIR ALGERIE has today a number of strong advantages to improve its market competitiveness, to ensure its profitability and to preserve its financial health.
A HEALTHY FINANCIAL POSITION THAT SHOWS:
Profitable net results on the last ten (10) financial years;
Financial forecasts presented on the loans repayments term (2004 – 2011) showing well – balanced net results;
AIR ALGERIE’s ability to repay the taken up loans at maturity dates;
A strong registered capital raised from 2.5 billion DA in 2001 to 43 billion DA in 2007. The successsive registered capital increases were made by incorporation of the company’s reserves;
A net surplus of cash flow. Loans’ repayment at maturity date didn’t create a cash flow shortage;
A new and “prudential” financial policy at short, medium and long term is adopted for the new financial commitments.
An advance repayment of the external debt refunded by national loans. This operation will reduce the financial costs of the remaining loans to be repaid, and suppress the exchange risk in case of DINAR / USD parity’s depreciation.
After this operation , AIR ALGERIE’s indebtedness is 100% denominated in Algerian Dinars (DA).
AIR ALGERIE’s fleet is fully renewed (Thirty – one (31) new aircraft). The passengers fleet average age is seven (07) years as of 31 December 2010.
AIR ALGERIE’s new Maintenance Base of high and advanced technology is a new profitability means.
AIR ALGERIE’s required certification process EASA PART 145, IOSA / IATA and ISO 9001 version 2000 is initiated and followed up by a quality system implementation. This will allow the company to meet international standards.
EASA PART 145 has already been obtained for B737 – NG, A330 – 200 and ATR 72 – 500 aircraft , and for a number of workshops as Wheels Workshop, Brakes Workshop, ATEC and Batteries Workshop. The next step will be to obtain On line Maintenance and Engines Workshop certification.
IOSA audit (IATA Operational Safety Audit) including 1200 standards took place for the first time in December 2006, in the good conditions. Operational and technical services relating to the aircraft operation were audited.
AIR ALGERIE was registered near IATA and became an IOSA company as it met the wholly standards required by IOSA audit. AIR ALGERIE has been successfully submitted to another audit in 2010 and 2012.
The Quality Management System (QMS) is implemented by AIR ALGERIE’s General Management according to the requirements of ISO 9001 standards,
AIR ALGERIE has today a comfortable position in the market;
AIR ALGERIE is expending its commercial strategy to strengthen its position in the market by:
Reinforcing its flight frequency on the international network.
Extending its network to the long – haul flights and opening new services. In addition, many steps are taken to open new other services.
Opening in 2009 a number of new short and medium – haul services: Algiers – Milano, Algiers – Strasbourg, Sétif – Marseille, Oran – Frankfurt, Algiers – Palma, Oran – Barcelona. AIR ALGERIE initiated new ATR services on the domestic network, to the Highlands and between Cities.
Opening in 2014 of new services : Algiers-Vienna and Algiers-Lisbon.
Encreasing the number of ATR shuttles between the big cities (Algiers, Oran, Constantine and Annaba);
Reorganizing the company into poles and groups in order to meet the current challenges.
The subsidiarising project will be applied to the following activities: Catering, Cargo, Maintenance and Handling,bringing into general use the e – ticket.
Adapting the Price Lists to the requirements.
